Tasting Notes: —The 2020 vintage, despite its challenges, produced many lovely wines, with diurnal shifts contributing to delicious complexity. The juice for this wine underwent primary fermentation (but no malolactic fermentation) in 19% new French oak barrels, then aged for nine months in those same barrels. The wine was bottle-aged for a year prior to release. Aromas of ripe tropical fruits, tarragon, jasmine and toasted almond. Flavors of fresh, vibrant passionfruit, white peach and mango.

Winemaker Notes: —The Estates Tier highlights wines sourced from a collection of vineyards in select appellations within the Napa Valley, deemed by our winemakers to be among the very best. A true reflection of place. Grapes selected for our Oakville Fumé Blanc were grown on low fertility, well-drained soils with optimal sun exposure, enabling development of rich, complex flavors and astounding fruit maturity. We selected fruit primarily from two blocks from our To Kalon Vineyard, where well-draining soils result in low yields of deeply concentrated fruit. Fruit from the V-Block makes up the core, with a splash of our old I-Block adding complexity. While the V-Block is younger, it is grafted to budwood from the I-Block. A small amount of Sémillon complements the Sauvignon Blanc’s vibrant fruit and acidity by adding roundness with a creamy texture.

Varietal Composition: 94% Sauvignon Blanc, 6% Semillon
