Tasting Notes: Intense ruby in color, this Cabernet opens with a lovely bouquet of fruit-forward intensity, soft notes of oak courtesy of the barrel fermentation, and just a hint of anise and mocha. Ripe black fruit unfolds on the palate offering cassis, blackberry and black cherry flavors. The finish is long and lingering with a smooth, rich texture.

Winemaker Notes: Born of grapes from several of Sonoma County’s finest family-owned vineyards, the 2020 Ammunition Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect representation of the quality for which we’ve become known. With varietals like Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up 10% of this wine, we’ve stuck the uncommon balance of boldness, richness and elegance that makes it an Ammunition wine.

The backbone of this Cabernet Sauvignon was traditionally fermented then matured in 50% new French Oak. Additionally, the Ammunition winemaking team peeled off 5% of the Cabernet, barrel-fermenting it separately to give the final blend a remarkably round and silky finish, achieveing true tannin nirvana.

Varietal Composition: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc.

Pairs With: If you’re looking for a Cabernet that will pair perfectly with any steak or late night rendezvous, then look no further. Flavors of blackberry and cedar hold the long, rich tannins together for a perfect finish.
